The role of the person who supervises young people (aged 6 to 12) within the organization is mainly to help them overcome the challenges they face at school. Some students have specific difficulties, particularly with reading (text comprehension, reading speed, sound differentiation, etc.). These difficulties can affect all subjects. We therefore help the children with their homework and lessons, review with them for exams, and provide them with additional exercises. The organization has teaching materials for preschool through 9th grade that volunteers and tutors can use. Most sessions are one-on-one, as many of the young people receiving academic support have been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, language disorders, or dys disorders. It is recommend that you commit to one afternoon, two at most. Tutoring takes place Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the organization's premises. You can therefore choose one or two afternoons per week depending on your availability. Please don't hesitate to ask for more for more information in your application!
