Do you enjoy reading and want to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life? As a Reading Support Volunteer, you will share your love of books while helping a child develop reading and reading comprehension skills. Through your caring and supportive presence, you will directly contribute to the child’s academic success and self-confidence. Accompany the program worker to the school to pick up the children. Support a child aged 5 to 12 in reading age-appropriate books. Help the child answer reading comprehension questions. Check the child’s understanding of certain words encountered in the text and explain their meaning when needed. Share your knowledge and discuss interesting elements of the books being read. Encourage the child to develop good work habits (following routines, writing complete answers, taking care with handwriting). Support the child in respecting rules and structure, when necessary Enjoy working with children, reading, and children’s literature. Good spoken and written French skills. Comfortable providing guidance and one-on-one support. Punctual, reliable, and committed. Patient, caring, and encouraging attitude.Volunteer Role Description
