Le Chic Resto Pop is looking for volunteers for its new Miam! program. MIAM! and its volunteers respond to the growing needs of seniors living alone or in precarious situations by providing them with food security and support to break their isolation and promote their long-term independence and well-being with dignity. Tasks: - Spend time with seniors (friendly home visits) while delivering frozen meals cooked in our kitchen. Delivering meals is an excuse to break seniors' social isolation and spend time chatting together. - Engage in warm and friendly conversations over the phone, offering a listening ear and empathy. The organization is looking for volunteers who are available once a week (for a minimum of three months), preferably on the same day each week. Visits take place Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Additional information: One week, you will make the calls (+/- 1 hour for the two calls to be made from your home, flexible schedule). The following week, you will ideally make two home visits for a total of 3.5 hours (or a single visit lasting 1.5 hours round trip). Visits start at Chic Resto Pop (to pick up meals, last departure for visits at 4:00 p.m.). Having a car is an advantage but is not mandatory. Public transportation tickets are reimbursed. One meal at Chic Resto Pop is offered for every 3 hours of volunteer work. The organization conducts a background check.
