At Magasin Chaînon, we are deeply committed to the circular economy and the revalorization of textiles. Every day, our team sorts donations of clothing and second-hand items to give them a new life. Among these donations, we often discover real treasures—sometimes they just need a little touch of magic to regain their full shine! That’s why we rely on volunteer seamstresses and a valorization team to extend the life of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Help us bring garments back to life with your skills! Tasks: Repair damaged clothing Replace or fix zippers Conceal or transform stains Mend holes Perform visible or invisible repairs, depending on inspiration Sewing projects – upcycling The Chaînon’s mission is to provide unconditional and non-judgmental support to women in vulnerable situations in Montreal, offering safe housing and personalized support services to help them regain their autonomy, self-esteem, and control over their lives, thereby supporting their social reintegration and full potential. In short, Le Chaînon aims to: Welcome and shelter women in need, making it the largest women’s shelter in Montreal. Empower women by valuing their potential and affirming their right to act on their social, economic, and political conditions. Offer services such as emergency housing, personalized support, and professional assistance (legal, wellness, etc.). Enable women to recover, reach their full potential, and achieve equal opportunities.
