Friendly Visitor (Weekly Volunteer)

We’re looking for warm, reliable volunteers who enjoy conversation, companionship, and building meaningful relationships with older adults. As a Friendly Visitor, you’ll be matched with a senior living alone in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG) or Montreal West and offer a weekly visit that brightens their week and strengthens their sense of belonging.

What you’ll do

• Visit your matched senior once a week (about 1 hour)
• Offer friendly conversation, companionship, and a caring presence
• Help reduce loneliness and foster connection in your community

What we’re looking for

• Kindness, patience, and good listening skills
• Comfort interacting with older adults
• Ability to commit to weekly visits
• Reliability and respect for confidentiality

What you’ll gain

• A meaningful, one‑on‑one volunteer experience
• A chance to brighten someone’s week
• Ongoing support from the Extra Miles team

Time commitment

• 1 hour per week, flexible scheduling.
• Minimum 6 months, with a preference for at least 1 year
