Become a Volunteer for a Special Holiday Distribution with Partage & Solidarité! For the holiday season, Partage & Solidarité is hosting a special food distribution. Along with our regular food baskets, we’ll also be handing out small gifts to families to bring a touch of holiday magic to this time of year. We are looking for volunteers to join us on Tuesday, December 16, at the LGBTQ+ Community Centre (2075 Rue Plessis #110), between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with the possibility of continuing in the following weeks if you wish. Who are we? Your role during this special Holiday edition: Some tasks can be done while seated. Schedule for the day: What we’re looking for: At Partage & Solidarité, we value a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment. No judgment or disrespect toward the community we serve will be tolerated. A small bonus: Each volunteer receives a basket at the end of the day (quantities vary depending on the day’s arrivals). Want to bring a little magic while helping reduce food waste?
Partage & Solidarité is a charitable organization founded in 2017 and recipient of the Canada Volunteer Award. Every month, thanks to our volunteer teams, we rescue 35 to 40 tons of food, redistributed for free as 3,000 to 4,000 food baskets across several Montreal boroughs.
• Sort the food donations received (gloves and masks available)
• Prepare the boxes that will be distributed
• Welcome community members and help with the distribution
• Hand out small gifts to families
• Assist with final clean-up at the end of the day
11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Truck unloading (for those who can) and food sorting
2 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Welcoming participants and distribution
3 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Cleaning the room and loading the remaining items
• Open-mindedness, patience, and respect
• Good physical condition for those helping with the truck unloading
• Interest in food-waste reduction (an asset)
• Must be 18 years or older
Join us on December 16 and help nourish hundreds of Montreal families during the holiday season.
