In-School Mentoring

The In-School Mentoring program provides youth with a role model, a friend to talk to and share their life experiences.

They participate together in recreational activities on school site.

Frequency of meetings: 1 hour per week for one school year

At lunch time

Programs Objectives

• Offer a friend, who can be a role model

• Promote the importance of staying in school and build healthy relationships with family and peers

• Inspire self-confidence and trust in others so the child learns to make healthy decisions

• Encourage leadership and independent thinking

• Make a difference in the life of a child while having fun

Mentoring Impacts

• 90% of mentors see positive changes in their mentee
• 88% of mentees improved their reading and writing skills
• 64% of mentees improved their self-esteem
