Why autonomy matters?

Being autonomous and community-led means acting from locally expressed needs, with democratic governance, a public-interest mission and long-term initiative. In Montréal, this autonomy fuels countless initiatives that improve health, dignity, inclusion and social participation.

How the VBM contributes

At the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal (VBM), we connect people who want to help with organizations that need support:

• Lowering the barrier to engage through information and tailored matching, online and in person.
  Strengthening organizations with training, practical tools and advisory support.

• Elevating skills-based service via Cœur au travail, our corporate and skills-based volunteering program.

• Centering access and inclusion so that everyone can contribute meaningfully.
