Working with the kitchen team, the volunteer assistant cook assists with set-up. They help ensure food service is compliant with Canada's Food Guide and current health regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the cook and/or head cook in meal preparation;
• Assist with ingredient preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables and other necessary foods;
• Assist with coffee break preparation;
• Help sort and place donations;
• Comply with hygiene codes.

 

Required Commitment

• Minimum availability of 4 hours per week;
• Participation in an initial orientation session.

Benefits:

• Free meal;
• After more than 3 months, a certificate of volunteer service can be provided upon request.
