The Yellow Door, a non-profit organization running intergenerational programs for the community, is always looking to add volunteers to our Generations Program. To become a member of the YD Generations Outreach Program, a person must be at least 55 years old and live within our neighborhood. Many seniors in our area are socially isolated and may experience a loss of autonomy. Our volunteers offer a number of services to our members, including friendly visits, ccompaniments, friendly errands and tech help. | Place of work: In the downtown Montreal community

This organization's needs

  • As a non-profit we are always looking for ways to raise funds, either through creative events or through successful grant applications. As an Events & Fundraising Volunteer you would work closely with the YD Executive Director and Fundraising Committee to plan and execute events or to submit and follow up on grant applications. We are looking for volunteers who have new ideas that they would like to plan and initiate, and/or who are motivated to offer support to current projects. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover our operating costs for the year, allowing us to continue our programs and services within the local community.   • The Yellow Door is looking for volunteers to help with our Knitting Circle, which welcomes all ages and abilities for a casual afternoon of knitting, sharing, and learning. Volunteers should have basic to advanced knitting skills and volunteer responsibilities include: gathering supplies, supporting all participants and cleaning up at the end of the session.
