Other ways to find volunteering

Every year, the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal recruits and refers thousands of potential volunteers to over 430 charitable and non-profit organizations in various fields, including sports and recreation, education, the environment, arts and culture, and more.

To find the volunteer activity that best suits your interests, skills, and availabilities from among over the 500 activities we have to offer, you can:

You can also make an appointment at our offices with one of our advisors by calling us at 514-843-3351 (our offices are located at 2015 Drummond Street, suite 300).

  • Quick search – Here you’ll find an alphabetical list of all categories used to sort requests. These are based either on a type of volunteer activity or a specific cause or clientele.
  • Short-term activities – Activities that require a one-time commitment usually lasting between three hours per month and three hours per year.
  • Virtual volunteering – Revision, translation, graphic design, mentorship, accounting, web programming and design… Many organizations that recruit volunteers through the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal regularly need virtual volunteers.
  • Group volunteering activities – If you are a group of people ready to do a volunteer activity together, then this section is for you! Some of our organizations in need of volunteer groups are listed here.
  • ''Non-conventional'' volunteer activities  – Are reading, crafts, graphic design, and even billiards volunteer activities? Absolutely! So are cycling, writing, public relations, chess, and much more!

  • Volunteer activities for 12 to 17 year olds – Check out this section if you’re 12 to 17 years old and want to have fun while helping those in need!
  • Recruiting organizations in alphabetical order – You can offer your support directly to an organization whose mission particularly interests you. If you want to learn more about the organizations we work with (their mission and respective volunteer opportunities), simply check this list. If the volunteer opportunities listed here don’t interest you, you can contact the organizations directly and explain that their mission is meaningful to you and that you’d like to help!
